The spelling of Lt. Bowland's last name is my own. It could have been different. The Lt. was the second Commanding Officer at Taejon Relay during my stay. The first was a Capt. whose name I've forgotten. Lt. Bowland was a reserve officer who was called up during the Korean war, and wasn't at all happy about that. Not that we were happy either. He was a real nice guy and was not a stickler for military courtesy unless other officers were present. He was from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We liked him and he was a good officer.
