3. Squirrel Deterrent, Bird Feeder

We purchased this deterrent from a garden catalog. It works well and the squirrels can not get to the top. We also added a platform so the seeds can be kept on the top for birds to clean up. We don't wish our squirrels to starve. And they don't. The squirrels come regularly to eat the seeds that fall to the ground and thus clean all the otherwise wasted seeds. The cone works well but it seemed to me to be far too expensive at $33. Just being a sheet of sheet metal, I think the next one I will make myself. Found another supplier that sells them for a fair price and ordered several more.
