93. Paul Gets his first Driver's License in 1948

In October 13 of 1948 at the age of 16, I got my first driver's license. I passed it on the first try. I then bought the 1936 Chevrolet shown in another picture and then had wheels. It would be the last time I ever had to take a driving test for 67 years. I learned to drive in my stepfather's pickup. It was difficult to drive in that it had manual transmission without synchromesh. You had to learn how to double clutch. That came in handy in Korea with my army truck.
