If the World was perfect, it wouldn't be. - Yogi Berra

  1. A violin contains about 70 separate pieces of wood!
  2. If you folded a piece of paper 42 times, it would reach to the moon. Not so fast. Instead of folding, imagine that you cut the piece of paper in half -- the short way -- and stacked it. Then cut the stack into two -- the short way -- and stacked it. And so on. If you did that 42 times then you'd end up with an extremely large quantity of extremely fine confetti that would stack up quite high. Of course, since it would be finer than fine dust, it would blow away before it got to the moon. In fact, each piece of confetti would have only a few atoms in it. You certainly couldn't do this a 50th time; you'd have to split atoms.
  3. Albino snails exist. This giant, albino Powelliphanta was discovered by hikers in the New Zealand wilderness. They can grow to around the size of a man's fist and live for around 20 years. They feed on worms and slugs and any other small creature that can't outrun a snail.
  4. There are more lakes in Canada than in the rest of the world combined. Canada is home to approximately 60% of the world's lakes. There is no official number of all of its smaller lakes. However, it has 31,752 lakes larger than 3 square km. It also has 561 lakes larger than 100 square km. Almost 9% of Canada's area is covered in freshwater.
